Job description

Position Summary

The ITSr. Systems Engineer at Benesch’s Cleveland office is the perfect role if you are passionate about hybrid cloud solutions and want to play a crucial role on our infrastructure team.

Essential Functions

1. Oversee the physical data center experience with virtualization/private cloud infrastructure.
2. Manage rack design and organization, cable management, redundancy, and growth planning.
3. Maintain relationships with external vendors and cloud providers.
4. Support premise‑to‑cloud migration, disaster recovery, and hybrid cloud management.
5. Monitor, manage, and forecast changing requirements in on‑prem and cloud infrastructure, generating and tracking KPIs for system performance and availability.
6. Design, configure, and maintain IT infrastructure hardware, cloud, and software, including Active Directory, GPOs, network infrastructure, VMware and Hyper‑V clusters, Microsoft 365, Azure, and related infrastructure applications (config management, monitoring, VPN, RDP, etc.).
7. Partner with the security team on projects/requests for hardening, remediation, compliance with client requirements, ISO requirements, and security controls assessments.
8. Assist in system monitoring, reviewing infrastructure and application logs, and verifying configured technical controls.
9. Handle server/system configuration management and IP address management – build, manage, configure, maintain, and troubleshoot configuration management systems.
10. Participate in coordination, installation, testing, and technical support of local and wide area wired and wireless networks.
11. Assist with deployment of new desktop and server operating systems and applications.
12. Assist with distribution of updates and patches across systems.
13. Provide enterprise line‑of‑business application support, including Tier III support/troubleshooting.
14. Evaluate, test, recommend, and implement specific software and network solutions.
15. Develop and maintain complete and accurate documentation of network layout, server hardware and software configurations, firewall and router configurations.
16. Research, install, analyze, test, and evaluate applications, systems, policies, methodologies, processes, and procedures to ensure the firm’s server infrastructure and facilities meet service level agreements for availability, performance, growth, and functionality. Maintain documentation for network processes and procedures.
17. Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

The IT Sr. Systems Engineer should have over seven years of experience in systems engineering or cloud administration, strong interpersonal and analytical skills, and excellent customer service. Candidates must be highly skilled in data center virtualization, hybrid cloud infrastructure, network switching, storage management, and virtualization clusters, with expertise in VMware vSphere, Hyper‑V/SCVMM, and SAN configuration. Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Azure, Windows administration (Active Directory, DNS, Group Policy, Kerberos, Certificate Authority, IIS), Microsoft 365, Azure technologies, and identity and access management is essential. Certifications in relevant technologies are preferred. The role may involve up to 10% travel to other office locations and occasional evening or weekend work.

Salary

The salary range for this position is $101K to $130K.
