The Opportunity

The role of the SAP Manufacturing Manager is to lead a team of SAP analysts focused on the manufacturing, quality and planning functions within the Medical Devices SAP environment (SAP-MD). The team is responsible for analyzing business and technical processes, documenting business requirements, defining changes to business processes, configuration, testing and implementation of changes to the enterprise-wide business systems. This person serves as the primary point of coordination and communication for enhancements and projects being planned for the manufacturing, quality and planning area of SAP, and coordinates with business and technology teams to support and test integrated business systems to ensure they meet requirements.

This role will provide leadership and expertise to team members and drives identification of opportunities for the effective use of SAP-related technology and the implementation of SAP-related solutions.

What You’ll Do
  • Represents the manufacturing operations team and provides SAP expertise on large-scale IT programs.
  • Manages the intake, prioritization and completion of enhancements and projects assigned to the Finance team.
  • Works cross functionally within the SAP team and across other IT organizations to resolve complex issues – with focus on manufacturing related execution systems (MES).
  • Reviews the resolution and proposed solutions for business and assesses their technical impact to determine if overall results and objectives have been achieved in accordance with the existing global template and regulatory standards.
  • Ensures change control, access control, and landscape management processes are followed.
  • Builds strong working relationships and communicate effectively with partners in Business, the Business Relationship team and across theSAP-MD team.
  • Directly manages employee and contractor resources. Responsible for scheduling andresource allocationto ensure adequateSAP functional support is available when needed for production issues.
  • Provides system integrator oversight and guidance.
  • Provides leadership and assists in training and career development of team members.
  • Ensures team compliance with Abbott administrative processes (time tracking,change management, IT compliance, etc.), including new team member on-boarding to these processes
  • Complies with U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) regulations, other regulatory requirements, Company policies, operating procedures, processes, and task assignments.
Education and Experience You’ll Bring:
Required Qualifications
  • A recognized bachelor’s degree qualification.
  • 10+ years of experience in SAP manufacturing, quality and planning operations including configuration.
  • 3+ years of experience leading end-to-end IT-related projects.
  • Possesses strong working knowledge of SAP manufacturing, quality and planning functions.
  • Possesses strong knowledge of manufacturing operations.
  • Strong verbal and written communications with ability to effectively communicate with all levels of the organization. Maintain highest standards of customer service and business professionalism.
  • Strong leadership skills, including the ability to set goals and provide positive and constructive feedback respectfully to build positive relationships and improve business results.

  • Experience working in a large or midsized multinational healthcare organization.
  • Experience leading teams with a geographically dispersed operational environment.
  • Ability to work in a highly matrixed and geographically diverse business environment.
  • Ability to work effectively within a team in a fast-paced changing environment.
  • Ability to bridge communication between technical and business areas.
  • Multi-tasks, prioritizes and meets deadlines in timely manner.
  • Strong organizational, planning, and follow-up skills and ability to hold others accountable.
  • Experience with GxP validation.

The base pay for this position is $129,300.00 – $258,700.00. In specific locations, the pay range may vary from the range posted.
