Job summary

Socket.dev is seeking an IT Specialist to support instructional technology in a school district. The role involves planning and coordinating technology applications, and providing hands-on support to teachers, administrators, and paraprofessionals.

You will troubleshoot hardware and software, maintain inventories, and help identify and acquire suitable computer hardware and software. Occasional travel to meetings and workshops may be required.

Qualifications

• Must have high school diploma or GED.
• Associate degree in a related field preferred.
• Experience with instructional technology is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Support district staff to improve education through instructional technology.
• Plan and coordinate instructional technology applications.
• Provide ongoing training to teachers, admins, and paras.
• Troubleshoot hardware and software issues.
• Maintain technology inventory records.
• Coordinate efforts to identify, acquire, and evaluate computer hardware and software.
• Establish resources for classroom use.
• Attend local/state meetings/workshops for district info.
• Perform other duties as required.

POSITION QUALIFICATIONS:

• HighSchoolDiplomaorG.E.D.
• AssociateDegreeinarelatedfieldfromanaccreditedcollegeoruniversityispreferred.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• CooperatingwiththeDistrictstaffinthetotalefforttobringaboutqualityeducationforstudentsthroughthe use ofinstructional technology.
• Assistinginplanning,coordinatingandimplementinginstructionaltechnologyapplicationsconsistentwith established projectobjectivesand activities.
• Providingon-goingin-servicetoteachers,administratorsandPara-professionalsintheuseofinstructional technology and the use of hardware applications.
• Troubleshootshardwareandsoftwaretoidentifycomputermalfunctions.
• Maintainstechnologyinventoryrecordsandpaperwork.
• Coordinatingeffortstoassistschoolsintheidentification,selection,acquisition,useandevaluationofcomputer hardware andappropriate software.
• Establishingandmaintainingtechnologyresourcesappropriateforclassroomuse.
• Attendingrequiredlocal,stateandothermeetings/workshops/conferencesforthepurposeofsharingand collecting information gained with the district schools.
• Performsotherjobrelateddutiesasrequired.

WORK ENVIRONMENT AND PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
