WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING DAY TO DAY

As an IT Specialist (NETWORK/OS), you will:

  • Design, implement, and maintain secure, scalable, and high-availability enterprise LAN/WAN, WLAN, SDN, VPN, routing, and switching architectures that support mission-critical systems and agency-wide.
  • Develop enterprise network architecture standards, modernization strategies, hybrid connectivity solutions, and Zero Trust network designs to improve performance, resilience, and interoperability across the organization.
  • Conduct advanced troubleshooting, capacity planning, performance optimization, incident response, and integration of network infrastructure with cybersecurity controls, monitoring tools, firewalls, and access management solutions.
  • Provide guidance to leadership, program managers, engineers, and stakeholders on enterprise network engineering, infrastructure planning, technology adoption, and IT service delivery.
  • Lead network infrastructure projects from planning through implementation, develop technical requirements, monitor contractor performance, ensure compliance with statements of work, and present project status and recommendations to agency leadership and stakeholders.

Minimum Qualifications
  • Designing and engineering enterprise LAN/WAN infrastructures using advanced routing, switching, SDN, and high-availability network architectures supporting large-scale operations, including troubleshooting and resolving complex network performance and availability issues impacting mission-critical systems and enterprise services.
  • Integrating and optimizing network infrastructure with hybrid cloud, data center, and enterprise connectivity solutions to improve scalability, performance, and reliability.
  • Implementing secure network architectures through network segmentation, firewalls, VPNs, access controls, and Zero Trust principles to strengthen cybersecurity posture
