The U.S. Air Force seeks an IT Specialist (GG-12) to oversee a secure, standardized, and timely top-secret net-centric enterprise of ISR mission networks, systems, and services across strategic, operational, and tactical boundaries in support of Air Force and National Intelligence priorities.
The position emphasizes enterprise IT management, policy compliance, and the ability to make independent technical decisions to support DoD missions.
The primary purpose of this position is to serve as IT Specialist overseeing a secure, standardized, and timely top-secret net-centric enterprise of AF ISR mission networks, systems, and services across strategic, operational, and tactical boundaries in support of both the Air Force and National Intelligence community priorities as well as combatant commander's full spectrum of war fighting missions. This is a GG-12 position in the Defense Civilian Intelligence Personnel System (DCIPS). The GG-12 duties for the 'Professional' work category are at the 'Full Performance' work level and are equivalent to those at the GG-12 level. The selectee's salary will be set within the grade equivalent to a GS/GG grade based on the selectee's qualifications in relation to the job.
In order to qualify, you must meet the specialized experience requirements described in the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualification Standards for General Schedule Positions for the GG-2210, Information Technology (IT) Management Series ("Alternative A").
Experience must be IT related; the experience may be demonstrated by paid or unpaid experience and/or completion of specific, intensive training (for example, IT certification), as appropriate.
For all positions individuals must have IT-related experience demonstrating each of the four competencies listed below. The employing agency is responsible for identifying the specific level of proficiency required for each competency at each grade level based on the requirements of the position being filled.
EXPERIENCE REQUIRED: Your resume must reflect the quality level of experience which demonstrates the possession of the knowledge, skills, abilities, and competencies necessary for successful job performance required for this position. Examples of creditable experience include: knowledge of a wide range of mission systems and network concepts, principles, and practices in enterprise information systems technology, such as would be gained through extended graduate study or experience and skill in applying this knowledge to difficult and complex work assignments; or a comprehensive, intensive, practical knowledge of information systems technology and skill in applying this knowledge to the development of new methods, approaches, or procedures. Note: Creditable experience may include previous military experience, experience gained in the private sector, or experience gained in another government agency.
