The Air Force Civilian Service (AFCS) is looking for full-time Information Technology (IT) Specialist, performing in Computer Network Service and Delivery Support (GS-2210-12), working under NORAD/USNORTHCOM (N&NC) at Peterson Space Force Base (SFB), Colorado Springs, Colorado.

Salary ($91,870 - $119,434) based on experience.

Relocation, recruitment, and/or retention incentives may be available based on experience.

Depending on the type of position (competitive/excepted) you are selected for; you will be required to serve a 1-year probationary period OR 2-year trial period.

In this position you will serve as a senior IT Systems Specialist (Network Services) in planning, designing, implementing, operating, maintaining and overseeing IT systems to meet the mission and business requirements of N&NC.

Must be a U.S. Citizen.

Must be able to obtain and maintain a “Top Secret/SCI” Security clearance.

This position is designated as a Drug Test Designated Position.

This is a mission essential and key position and may not be vacated in time of emergency or mobilization. The incumbent must be removed from military recall status and may not become a member of the ready reserves.

The incumbent must be able to obtain and maintain Information Assurance Management (IAM), Level II certification within 6 months. Additionally, the employee must obtain and maintain Computing Environment certifications for the operating systems and/or security related tools and devices he/she supports as required by the organization.

• Knowledge of a wide range of IT principles and systems analysis concepts and techniques, new and emerging information technologies, and security methods and principles.
• Knowledge of customers’ business processes and operations to anticipate and refine functional requirements.
• Knowledge of concepts and principles of sequencing actions, procurement techniques and requirements, and coordination requirements involved in project controls.
• Knowledge of design tools, methods, and techniques as well as life cycle management concepts, cost benefit analysis, system architecture, integration techniques, and testing methods.
• Knowledge of customary approaches, techniques, and requirements appropriate to analyze requirements, develop acquisition strategies, and implement systems enhancements.
• Ability to maintain an up-to‑date awareness of technological advances, to apply internet technologies to analyze networks and the related security aspects and predict how management can meet future requirements.
