Job summary

Qualifications

Responsibilities

  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues with computers, printers, software and classroom equipment.
  • Assist in daily network performance management
  • Create and manage user accounts in Active Directory, Office 365 and Google Workspace
  • Manage mobile devices using JAMF and Intune
  • Support education technology systems
  • Assist and manage IT projects
  • Maintain IT asset inventory using IncidentIQ
  • Respond to wired/wireless network outages (on-call for major disruptions)
  • Create and maintain technical documentation and user training
  • New hire setup and onboarding
  • VOIP system adds/changes/moves
  • Coordinate with vendors for support

Under the supervision of the Director of Technology, the IT Specialist is responsible for providing multi-levelfront-line technical support for academic, administrative, and residential operations.

Responsibilities
  • Troubleshooting, reporting, resolves problems with computers, network printers, software, and other office/classroom related equipment.
  • Assist in the day-to-day management of network performance
  • Create and maintain user and group accounts as the Active Directory/Office365 and Google Workplaceadministrator
  • Mobile device management via JAMF and Intune
  • Support of education technology systems
  • Assist and manage IT projects as needed
  • Assign and maintain student and staff technology assets inventory using IncidentIQ
  • Serve as first responder for all wired and wireless network outages (mandatory on-call in the event of major disruptions)
  • Create and maintain professional technical documentation and user training
  • New hire setup and onboarding
  • VOIP phone system adds/changes/moves
  • Communicate and interface with vendors for support
Physical Requirements and Work Environment
  • Works in an environment dealing with a wide variety of challenges, deadlines, and a varied and diverse array of contacts.
  • May work at a desk and computer for extended periods of time.
  • Be able to occasionally lift to 50 lbs.
  • Work primarily in a traditional climate-controlled office environment.
  • Work intermittently in outside weather conditions, including extreme heat and cold.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Information Systems, or equivalent work experience.
  • Certifications (MCSE, MCP, and A+) (preferred)
  • Experience supporting educational environments is a plus
  • Experience troubleshooting and repairing Chromebooks, Laptops, MacBooks
  • Effective communication skills, written and verbal
  • Minimum 2 years’ experience as helpdesk support
  • Experience managing users and groups within Active Directory, Google Workplace, Apple environments
