Job summary

GDIT is seeking a Telecom Transition Manager to lead the coordinated transition of network and telecommunications services into steady-state operations for VA OIT. You will ensure a smooth handoff, maintain documentation, and mentor teammates in transition best practices.

Hybrid role based in Martinsburg, WV with some Austin, TX work, requiring onsite presence a few days weekly. A strong background in WAN/LAN, SD-WAN, telecom, and ITIL concepts is essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
• Experience delivering telecom or IT services for large or complex organizations.
• Experience leading service transitions, migrations, or operational handoffs.
• Familiarity with WAN/LAN, SD-WAN, telecom services, or cloud-connected networking.
• Understanding of basic ITIL service transition concepts and NOC workflows.
• Experience developing SOPs, runbooks, or transition documentation.
• General knowledge of cybersecurity frameworks (NIST, TIC, Zero Trust).
• Strong communication and coordination skills across technical and business teams.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate with engineering, NOC, operations, and security teams to prepare TIC, SD-WAN, WAN/LAN, and telecom services for production.
• Support high-level troubleshooting and escalation needs during transition.
• Communicate transition progress, risks, and key milestones to stakeholders.
• Contribute to vendor evaluations, technology assessments, and pilot activities.
• Mentor team members and promote best practices in transition planning.

Join GDIT to support the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) through the NEDIIS program. As the Telecom Transition Manager, you will lead the coordinated transition of network and telecommunications services from the outgoing contractor into steady-state GDIT operations. This role ensures a smooth, controlled, and fully documented handoff to support VA OIT's mission-critical infrastructure.

The likely salary range for this position is $114,750 - $155,250. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. Rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.
