Job summary

The Marvin Group in California seeks an IT Senior Project Manager to lead key IT projects, delivering on time, within budget and scope. This role requires coordinating internal teams and vendors, defining scope, ensuring resource availability, and maintaining documentation.

Ideal candidates have 7+ years of IT PM experience, PMP or CMMC preferred, and a solid IT infrastructure background with strong communication skills. This onsite position is based in Southern California with minimal travel.

Qualifications

  • BS/BA in IS/IT or related field.
  • NIST 800-171 compliance experience.
  • 7+ years IT project management experience.
  • CMMC Certification and PMP preferred.
  • Solid technical background in IT applications or IT infrastructure.
  • Excellent client-facing and internal communication skills.
  • Solid organizational skills and detail orientation.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Project and Visio.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate internal resources and third parties/vendors for flawless project execution.
  • Ensure projects are delivered on-time, within scope and within budget.
  • Define project scope and objectives with stakeholders ensuring technical feasibility.
  • Ensure resource availability and allocation.
  • Develop detailed project plans to monitor progress.
  • Manage changes to scope, schedule, and costs using verification techniques.
  • Measure project performance using appropriate tools and techniques.
  • Report to management and elevate issues as needed.
  • Maintain client and stakeholder relationships; manage vendor relationships.
  • Perform risk management to minimize project risks.
  • Create and maintain comprehensive project documentation.

Based in Southern California near the Los Angeles International Airport, The Marvin Group consists of Marvin Engineering (MEC), Marvin Test Solutions (MTS) and Marvin Land Systems (MLS). Marvin Engineering designs and produces military Alternate Mission Equipment. Marvin Test Solutions designs and manufactures armament Test Equipment. Marvin Land Systems specializes in the design and build of power and thermal management systems. Position Summary
The IT Senior Project Manager is responsible for the management of key IT projects with the goal of delivering every project on time, within budget and within scope.
Essential Duties And Responsibilities

  • Coordinate internal resources and third parties/vendors for the flawless execution of projects
  • Ensure that all projects are delivered on-time, within scope and within budget
  • Assist in the definition of project scope and objectives, involving all relevant stakeholders and ensuring technical feasibility
  • Ensure resource availability and allocation
  • Develop a detailed project plan to monitor and track progress
  • Manage changes to the project scope, project schedule, and project costs using appropriate verification techniques
  • Measure project performance using appropriate tools and techniques
  • Report and elevate to management as needed
  • Successfully manage the relationship with the client and all stakeholders
  • Perform risk management to minimize project risks
  • Establish and maintain relationships with third parties/vendors
  • Create and maintain comprehensive project documentation
Skills And Requirements
  • BS/BA in IS/IT or related field
  • CMMC Certification and PMP preferred
  • NIST 800-171 compliance experience
  • 7+ years experience successfully managing IT projects
  • Proven working experience in project management in the information technology sector
  • Solid technical background with understanding and/or hands-on experience in IT applications or IT Infrastructure
  • Excellent client-facing and internal communication skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Solid organizational skills including attention to detail and multi-tasking skills
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office, Microsoft Project, Microsoft Visio
  • PMP certification is a plus.

Salary Range
Base Salary Range (Inglewood only): $125,000 to $150,000
