IT Security Specialist for Wastewater Construction General Contractor

As an IT Security Specialist in North Kansas City, MO, you will maintain, monitor, and implement technology infrastructure security. Your responsibilities include developing, enforcing, assessing, and documenting security controls to protect the company's employees, data, and systems. The IT security specialist will work towards achieving the company’s strategic security goals.

WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING

1. Create and maintain documentation of security guidelines, policies, procedures, and controls.
2. Protect the company’s systems and data from internal and external threats by implementing defenses to prevent unauthorized access or modifications.
3. Monitor system and network events for unusual or malicious activity.
4. Collaborate with the IT team, internal departments, and external partners to develop and implement new security protocols and protections.
5. Research cybersecurity tools and software to stay updated on effective solutions.
6. Assist in developing security awareness training for employees about current cybersecurity threats and tactics.
7. Regularly assess and audit systems to identify vulnerabilities.
8. Understand and implement cybersecurity frameworks such as NIST, CMMC, CIS Controls, PCI-DSS, etc., in an enterprise environment.
9. Stay informed about the latest security trends and cybercriminal tactics.
