IT Security Specialist for Wastewater Construction General Contractor

As an IT Security Specialist in North Kansas City, MO, you will maintain, monitor, and implement technology infrastructure security. You will be responsible for developing, enforcing, assessing, and documenting security controls to protect the company's employees, data, and systems. The IT security specialist will work towards producing and fulfilling the company’s strategic goals.

WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING

1. Create and maintain documentation of security guidelines, policies, procedures, and controls.
2. Protect company’s systems and data from internal and external threats by implementing defenses to prevent unauthorized access or changes.
3. Monitor system and network events for unusual or malicious activity.
4. Collaborate with the IT team, internal departments, and external partners to develop and implement new security protocols and layers of protection.
5. Research and understand cybersecurity tools and software.
6. Develop security awareness training for employees on the latest tactics used by cybercriminals.
7. Regularly assess and audit systems to identify vulnerabilities.
8. Understand cybersecurity frameworks (NIST, CMMC, CIS Controls, PCI-DSS, etc.) and effectively implement these controls in an enterprise environment.
9. Stay updated on the latest security trends and cybercriminal tactics.
