Job summary

Blue Cross NC is seeking an IT Governance Analyst to strengthen IT risk management, controls, and audit readiness. You will develop and maintain risk documentation, support audit engagements, and guide IT risk mitigation across initiatives.

You’ll partner with technology and business teams to identify, assess, and elevate IT and security risks, develop training, and strengthen recovery and continuity planning in line with regulatory requirements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required or advanced degree.
• 3+ years of experience in related field.
• In lieu of degree, 5+ years of experience in related field.
• Bonus points for experience supporting critical incident or crisis management, including cybersecurity-related incidents.
• Knowledge of recovery testing, reporting, and control assessment.
• Experience partnering with technology and business teams on recovery preparedness and continuity planning.

Responsibilities

• Identify and assess organizational IT risks, with emphasis on IT, security, and key business initiatives.
• Partner with business owners and project teams to raise risk awareness and support development, assessment, and monitoring of IT risk mitigation plans.
• Identify, evaluate, and elevate risks beyond the organization’s risk tolerance.
• Provide risk consulting and guidance for projects to ensure risks are identified and addressed.
• Evaluate control environments and work with business areas to strengthen controls or develop action plans.
• Maintain clear risk documentation per company policies, standards, and regulatory requirements.
• Develop guidance, processes, and training to strengthen IT and security risk management awareness.
