Overview

This is a remote role that may only be hired in the following locations: NC, TX.

Responsible for performing independent quality checks and developing methods of measuring the quality and performance of the functional testing processes. Coordinates testing and evaluation activities that identify issues, trends, and gaps in existing programs. Provides an independent assessment of the programs, policies, and procedures tested and offers feedback to management. Works with the testing lead to create the test plan and strategy. Updates testing metrics daily and reports results to the Quality Assurance (QA) Lead. May lead defect or other testing meetings if the test lead is unavailable.

Responsibilities

1. Independent Testing & Validation - Writes test cases based on requirements and user stories and performs manual testing as needed. Creates testing plans and test cases and loads them into appropriate tools. Participates in defect meetings and project routines to analyze current and re-tested defects.
2. Identify, document, and track defects and inconsistencies using defect tracking tools (e.g., JIRA, Azure DevOps).
3. Data Analysis - Sources, compiles, and interprets data. Analyzes data for accuracy and communicates findings effectively.
4. Collaborate with developers, product owners, and stakeholders to clarify requirements and ensure comprehensive testing coverage.
5. Understand SDLC processes and ensure team compliance.
6. Participate in requirements reviews and design discussions from a QA perspective.
7. Maintain and update QA documentation, processes, and best practices.
8. Ensure compliance with organizational quality standards and industry best practices.

Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree with 2 years of QA experience in Financial Services OR High School Diploma/GED with 6 years of QA experience in Financial Services.

Preferred Qualifications

• 2-4 years of experience in software QA or testing.
• Understanding of QA methodologies, SDLC, and STLC.
• Experience with testing tools like JIRA, Azure DevOps.
• Knowledge of Salesforce and web application testing preferred.
• Experience with Agile, Scrum, Kanban methodologies.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and troubleshooting skills.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
• Attention to detail and quality commitment.
