Texas Christian University in Fort Worth is seeking an IT Purchasing Specialist to manage procurement of hardware, software, maintenance and licensing and coordinate orders across the university’s procurement systems. The role focuses on ensuring timely delivery, cost-effective purchases, and accurate record-keeping on all IT assets.
The position works on campus in Arlington? (on-site) and emphasizes collaboration with IT teams, vendors, and internal customers to meet IT service demands.
The IT Purchasing Specialist is responsible for purchasing new computer and other information technology equipment by coordinating requests, researching and completing orders.
1. Responsible for the procurement of Information Technology Hardware, Software, Software as Service, IT maintenance and licensing, and IT Professional Services. Including research of new technology purchases and evaluating the performance of those technologies to provide support for management purchasing decisions.
2. Works within the IT Service Management tool and University Procurement System to complete purchase orders by selecting vendor, negotiating price, payment terms; arranging for product delivery, resolving delivery problems.
3. Reviews and processes IT purchases requests and payments within the IT Service Management Tool and University Procurement System by verifying requested purchases, bills from vendors, purchase orders, and items received; resolving discrepancies.
4. Maintains historical reference of equipment by keeping records of items and services purchased prices, delivery and product or service acceptability.
5. Maintains quality service by following organization standards.
6. Performs other related duties as assigned.
