The City of Bothell’s Employee and Technology Services Department (IT Division) is seeking an IT Project/Portfolio Manager to lead and deliver technology projects that align with the City’s strategic goals. In this role, you’ll oversee a diverse portfolio, manage resources, and ensure projects are completed on time, within scope, and on budget.

What will you do in this position?

  • Serve as the main liaison for IT project communications, collaborating with stakeholders and IT staff to define scope, objectives, and deliverables aligned with organizational goals.
  • Create and manage project plans, track progress, and address risks to ensure successful delivery.
  • Evaluate and refine the project portfolio to maximize resource efficiency and value, providing recommendations to IT and GIS leadership.
  • Lead project meetings, including steering committees, team discussions, and stakeholder updates.

A successful candidate in this position will:

  • Ensure clear and efficient communication of information and ideas through diverse communication channels.
  • Utilizes a thoughtful and strategic approach to reduce conflict, fostering collaboration between individuals through appropriate communication methods and interpersonal techniques, while handling challenging situations with professionalism, impartiality, and objectivity
  • Develop and use collaborative relationships to build informal and formal teams to accomplish team goals.
  • Make timely and effective decisions, often with limited information and under tight deadlines and pressure, relying on a combination of analysis, experience, and judgment.
