We are currently seeking a IT Project Manager - REMOTE to join our team in Halifax, Nova Scotia (CA-NS), Canada (CA).
Project Planning
Day-to-Day Job Duties in the following areas:
- Define project objectives, scope, and deliverables.
- Develop detailed project plans, schedules, and timelines
- Create a work breakdown structure (WBS) to organize project tasks.
- Identify and allocate resources, including team members and budget.
- Set clear project milestones and objectives.
Team Leadership
- Assemble project teams and assign roles and responsibilities
- Provide direction and guidance to team members.
- Foster a collaborative and productive work environment.
- Monitor team performance and address any issues or conflicts.
Stakeholder Communication
- Establish and maintain effective communication with project stakeholders.
- Provide regular project status updates to clients, sponsors, and other key stakeholders.
- Address stakeholder concerns and manage expectations.
Risk Management
- Identify potential project risks and develop risk mitigation strategies.
- Monitor and manage project risks throughout the project lifecycle.
- Implement contingency plans as needed to address unforeseen issues.
Budget And Cost Management
- Develop and manage the project budget.
- Monitor project expenses and ensure they align with the budget.
- Identify cost-saving opportunities and ensure the project remains financially viable.
Schedule Management
- Monitor project progress and ensure it adheres to the established schedule.
- Adjust the project schedule as necessary to accommodate changes and unforeseen delays.
- Ensure that project milestones are achieved on time.
Quality Assurance
- Establish and maintain quality standards for project deliverables.
- Implement quality control processes to ensure project outcomes meet the required criteria.
- Address any quality issues and make necessary improvements.
Reporting And Documentation
- Maintain comprehensive project documentation, including project plans, reports, and meeting minutes.
- Generate and distribute regular project status reports.
- Ensure that project records are up to date and easily accessible.
Change Management
- Evaluate and manage change requests and their impact on the project.
- Assess the feasibility and implications of proposed changes.
- Implement approved changes while minimizing disruption to the project.
Closure And Evaluation
- Ensure a smooth project closure, including handover of deliverables to stakeholders.
- Conduct a post-project evaluation to assess the project's success and identify areas for improvement.
- Capture lessons learned for future projects.
Compliance And Regulation
- Ensure that the project complies with relevant laws, regulations, and industry standards.
- Monitor and address any legal or regulatory requirements related to the project.
Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant field such as project management, business, engineering, or a related discipline
- 3+ years of experience in project management, with a track record of managing projects of increasing complexity and scope.
- 1+ years experience in the Manufacturing industry or field in which the projects are being managed can be highly valuable.
- 5+ years of total IT experience, can be a combination of project management, development, Business Analyst or support IT support roles
Preferred Skills
- Prefer PMs to hold certifications like the Project Management Professional (PMP) or equivalent, which demonstrates a solid understanding of project management principles and best practices.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills are essential for effective stakeholder communication and team leadership.
- Demonstrated ability to lead and manage project teams effectively, including setting expectations, providing direction, and resolving conflicts.
- Proficiency in problem-solving and the ability to make informed decisions in a dynamic project environment.
- Proficiency in project management software tools (e.g., Microsoft Project, Excel, Jira, Confluence) and other relevant software
- Knowledge of Agile and Scrum methodologies
