Job summary

HD Supply leads and oversees complex, enterprise-level IT projects supporting supply chain operations to ensure delivery on time, within scope, and within budget. The role requires managing project scope, financials, schedules, internal resources, external vendors, and contractual deliverables while aligning technology initiatives with organizational goals.

In this position you will mentor junior project managers, drive risk mitigation across multiple initiatives, and report to senior leadership

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Supply Chain, Business, or a related discipline.
• 8+ years of experience managing complex IT projects, including enterprise-level implementations; or a Master’s degree with 5+ years of relevant experience.
• PMP or equivalent project management certification required; additional certifications (Agile/Scrum, SAFe, Lean Six Sigma) preferred.
• Demonstrated experience leading large-scale technology initiatives within supply chain environments, including WMS, TMS, ERP, or related systems.

Responsibilities

• Leads one or more large-scale, cross-functional IT projects from initiation through delivery and post-implementation support.
• Develops, analyzes, and manages comprehensive project plans, timelines, budgets, and resource forecasts.
• Oversees project financials, including cost tracking, forecasting, and ROI analysis.
• Monitors overall project performance against established plans and adjusts strategies as needed.
• Identifies, escalates, and resolves complex issues while supporting RFI/RFP processes, vendor selection, and contract negotiations.
• Manages the work of multiple project teams, including internal staff and external partners, by aligning resources to project priorities.
• Communicates a clear vision of project goals, objectives, and success metrics.
• Coordinates cross-functional team activities to ensure timely delivery of key milestones.
• Provides mentorship, guidance, and performance feedback to junior project managers, analysts, and team members.
• Directs risk management efforts across multiple projects by proactively identifying potential risks and mitigation strategies.
• Establishes contingency plans and adapts to evolving requirements.
• Drives alignment and engagement among stakeholders and executive leadership.
• Builds strong relationships to facilitate decision-making and prioritization.
• Offers strategic recommendations to program leadership for goal setting and delivery.

Work Environment

Works in a professional office or remote setting with standard business conditions. Unpleasant conditions are infrequent and minimal.

Majority of time is spent in a seated position with flexibility to move as needed. Occasional light lifting may be required.

Travel up to 20% may be required to support vendor coordination, stakeholder meetings, training sessions, and implementation or go-live activities.

Education and Experience
