Job summary

State of North Carolina - Public Instruction seeks an IT Project Manager I (NS) to plan, coordinate, and deliver technology projects within established DPI processes. You will bridge business, technical teams, and stakeholders across the DPI, The Friday Institute, and EPMO to ensure on-time, on-budget outcomes.

The role requires managing scope, schedule, and budget with governance, leading cross-functional teams, and communicating project status to executives.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in IT or related field with 3+ years IT project management experience
• Experience with government procurement and vendor oversight
• Ability to translate business needs into project requirements
• Experience with Agile, Waterfall or hybrid delivery

Responsibilities

• Manage project scope, schedule, budget, risks, resources, and communications.
• Lead cross-functional teams and align stakeholders.
• Deliver status reports and executive-ready recommendations.
• Ensure projects adhere to DPI PMO standards and governance.
