Job summary

The Smithsonian Institution in Alexandria, VA seeks an IT professional to lead enterprise AIS deployments within Facilities Management Systems, working across the full system development lifecycle to support modernization efforts.

You will coordinate with the OCIO and OUSFA, liaise with vendors, and ensure IT projects meet functional and security requirements while delivering value to the agency.

Qualifications

Job description

The Smithsonian Institution is the world’s largest museum, education, and research complex, with 21 museums and the National Zoo. This position is located in Facilities Management Systems, System Modernization, Office of the Chief Information Officer (OCIO), Office of Under Secretary for Finance and Administration (OUSFA), Smithsonian Institution (SI).

Experience:You qualify for this position if you have one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-13 level in the Federal Service. For this position, specialized experience is defined asexperience 1. Experience applying IT project management principles and full systems/software development lifecycle (S/SDLC) methodologies to plan, design, and deploy large-scale enterprise automated information systems (AIS). 2. Technical experience implementing, configuring, or maintaining commercial-off-the-shelf (COTS) Enterprise Asset Management (EAM) or Integrated Workplace Management Systems (IWMS)—specifically IBM TRIRIGA or IBM Maximo Application Suite (MAS). 3. Experience acting as a primary technical liaison or contract technical representative (e.g., COR/COTR) to coordinate business requirements across diverse stakeholder groups and monitor vendor performance.

In addition to meeting the Specialized Experience for all positions individuals must have IT-related experience demonstrating each of the competencies listed below:
