Job summary

Wayne State University is seeking a Department Analyst for the IT Project Support Unit. The role leads technology project initiatives, coordinating scope with business owners and guiding IT workflow from initiation to completion.

You will help write business requirements, testing, and training plans while managing issues and policy development. The position involves collaboration with DTMB, MSP HQ, field staff, and multiple vendors, with a bias-free approach and leadership in change management

Qualifications

• Education: Possession of a bachelor's degree in any major.
• Experience: Three years of professional experience, including one year at the experienced (P11) level in state service.
• Alternate Education and Experience: Departmental Analyst 12 substitution may be substituted for education requirements.
• Additional Requirements: This position requires passing a pre-employment screening, including drug screen, criminal history background check, and fingerprint check by the Michigan State Police.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and lead IT project initiatives across the department.
• Lead project initiation meetings with department business owners to discuss project scope and explain IT project workflow.
• Assist with writing project business requirements, as well as project, testing, and training plans.
• Triage and resolve issues, review, recommend, and develop policies and procedures.
• Lead meetings involving change management and process improvement initiatives.
• Work with DTMB, MSP HQ and field staff, and multiple vendors from project initiation to completion.
