The Nevada Department of Transportation, Traffic Operations Division is hiring for an IT Professional 2 as team members of the Technology Section in Las Vegas, NV. The position will be a field technician in Southern Nevada (Las Vegas) and will perform work as a technical professional maintaining the Nevada Shared Public Radio System (NSRS). Responsible for assisting in the daily operations, maintenance, coordination, and sustainment of the system. In addition to these responsibilities, this position is required to possess a working knowledge of public radio principles, procedures, operations, and standards. Responsibilities of these positions also include being part of a team responsible for installation, construction, and maintenance of all radio communications sites across this area of the state. May work closely with external partners to ensure communications capabilities are maintained. These responsibilities require training and experience in the areas of digitally trunked radio system with an ability to troubleshoot, diagnose, repair, and maintain complicated technical systems at the field technician level.***Applicants must be authorized to work for ANY employer in the U.S, we are unable to sponsor or take over sponsorship of an employment Visa at this time. Information Technology (IT) Professionals analyze, develop, implement, maintain, and modify computer operations, systems, networks, databases, applications, and/or information security. Incumbents may perform duties in one or more IT specialization areas depending on the needs of the agency.Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in computer science, management information systems, or closely related field and two years of professional IT experience relevant to the duties of the position which may include computer operations, systems administration, network administration, database administration, applications analysis and development, and/or information security; OR two years of experience as an IT Professional I in Nevada State service; OR four years of relevant technical experience as an IT Technician IV or above in Nevada State service; OR an equivalent combination of education and experience as described above.Conduct detailed alternative analyses and determine end-user requirements through consultation with end-users, technicians, vendors, management, and others.
