The Nevada Department of Transportation (NDOT) is hiring for an IT Professional 4 - Network Administration in Carson City, NV. NDOT’s Traffic Operations Division as a Network Team Supervisor leading the operation, reliability, and advancement of the agency’s OT/ITS communication networks. In this role, you will supervise complex network planning, design, configuration, monitoring, and maintenance to ensure critical transportation systems remain connected and maintain peak uptime. You’ll guide staff and contractors, review technical designs, oversee installations, and ensure network interoperability across IT, district and agency partners. You will champion industry best practices, support asset management processes, and drive adoption of new technologies that strengthen statewide transportation operations. This position also leads project coordination, contributes to procurement and contracting activities, and represents the division in committees and technical panels. Ideal candidates bring strong leadership, technical expertise, and a commitment to NDOT’s mission, proactively reporting progress, resolving challenges, and aligning team priorities with departmental goals. The candidate selected for this position must have experience administering OT/ITS networks, including planning, configuration, and maintenance. Ability to design and review complex network infrastructure and supervise contractors. Skilled in coordinating with IT, regional offices, and partner agencies. Strong communication, project reporting, and cross agency collaboration abilities. Information Technology (IT) Professionals analyze, develop, implement, maintain, and modify computer operations, systems, networks, databases, applications, and/or information security. Incumbents may perform duties in one or more IT specialization areas depending on the needs of the agency.
Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in computer science, management information systems, or closely related field and five years of professional IT experience relevant to the duties of the position which may include systems administration, network administration, database administration, applications analysis and development, and/or information security, two years of which were at the advanced journey level or in a supervisory or project management capacity; OR Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in computer science, management information systems, or closely related field and five years of professional IT experience which may include systems administration, network administration, database administration, applications analysis and development, and/or information security, relevant to the duties of the position, two years of which were at the journey level in information security; OR two years of relevant experience as an IT Professional III in Nevada State service; OR an equivalent combination of education and experience as described above.
