Job summary

TEKsystems in Leawood, KS seeks an expert-level Indirect Procurement IT Portfolio Sourcing Manager to lead a multi-year strategy across IT spend areas. You will negotiate with suppliers, manage vendor relations, and drive cost optimization while mitigating risks and ensuring alignment with business goals.

You will collaborate with Operations, Legal, Finance, InfoSec, and Architecture/Engineering to shape portfolio roadmaps, monitor performance, and deliver savings.

Qualifications

  • 7-10+ years of progressive experience in strategic sourcing or category management with portfolio responsibility across indirect and/or direct materials.
  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Business, Engineering, or related discipline preferred.
  • Professional certifications (e.g., CPSM, CIPS, CSCP, PMP) are a plus, and IT category experience is advantageous.

Responsibilities

  • Create and implement global/divisional sourcing strategies and portfolio roadmaps for IT Spend Portfolios.
  • Identify, select, negotiate with, and manage relationships with key suppliers.
  • Perform cost analysis, TCO/shouldcost modeling, benchmarking, and deliver savings.
  • Assess and mitigate supply base risks; drive dualsourcing and continuity plans.
  • Partner with Operations, Legal, Finance, InfoSec, Architecture/Engineering, and stakeholders to align decisions.
  • Monitor supplier and internal performance against portfolio KPIs and SLAs.
  • Lead end-to-end RFx events, negotiations, and contracting.

Description

The Indirect Procurement IT Portfolio Sourcing Manager is a strategic procurement leader who manages a portfolio of related spend categories. This role develops and executes multiyear category strategies that secure best value, quality, and service delivers measurable cost optimization, reduces risk, and aligns sourcing outcomes to business goals. The IT Portfolio Sourcing Manager acts as the bridge between suppliers and internal teams, driving efficiency and innovation across assigned commodity groups through analysis, negotiation, and crossfunctional collaboration.

Strategy Development

Create and implement global/divisional sourcing strategies and portfolio roadmaps for IT Spend Portfolios, including demand shaping, supplymarket analysis, and multiyear plans.

Supplier Management

Identify, select, negotiate with, and manage relationships with key suppliers; establish Vendor Management rituals, QBRs, and joint improvement initiatives in partnership with the Vendor Relationship Management Team.

Cost Optimization

Perform cost analysis, TCO/shouldcost modeling, benchmarking, and deliver yearoveryear savings and value realization (savings, cost avoidance, productivity, rebates, credits).

Risk Management

Assess and mitigate supply base risks (financial, geopolitical, cybersecurity, ESG); drive dualsourcing, contractual protections, and business continuity plans.

CrossFunctional Collaboration

Partner with Operations, Legal, Finance, InfoSec, Architecture/Engineering, and Business Stakeholders to align sourcing decisions with the strategy, objectives, and compliance requirements.

Performance Tracking

Monitor supplier and internal performance in accordance with portfolio KPIs; ensure SLA adherence and continuous improvement.

Portfolio Focus

Leverage enterprisewide spend to achieve scale efficiencies and synergies across related categories; create category playbooks and standardized toolkits (RFx templates, evaluation criteria, negotiation levers).

Sourcing Execution

Lead endtoend RFx events, negotiations, and contracting (NDA, MSA, SOW, DPA, CO); ensure terms reflect commercial objectives, risk posture, and servicelevel commitments.

Governance & Compliance

Maintain contract lifecycle controls; enforce policy, delegated authorities, and approval workflows; support audit readiness and regulatory requirements.

Data & Analytics

Use spend analytics, market intelligence, and scenario modeling to inform strategies; track benefits realization and variance to plan.

Innovation & Sustainability

Advance supplierenabled innovation, diversity programs, and sustainability goals; pilot new technologies and business models where relevant.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

Equivalent relevant experience may be considered in lieu of a degree, typically demonstrated by 7-10+ years of progressive experience in strategic sourcing or category management with portfolio responsibility across indirect and/or direct materials.

Professional certifications (e.g., CPSM, CIPS, CSCP, PMP) and experience supporting IT categories (software/SaaS, cloud, hardware, and services) are a plus.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $69.00 - $70.00/hr.
