We are looking for a dedicated and detail-oriented ITAD IT Processing Technician to join our team in Columbia, SC. In this role, you will be responsible for securely processing end-of-life IT assets, ensuring that all equipment is handled according to industry standards for data destruction, recycling, and refurbishment. Your tasks will include inventory management, decommissioning hardware, wiping data from devices to ensure compliance with security protocols, and preparing assets for resale or disposal. The ideal candidate will have a strong desire to learn about IT asset disposal (ITAD) processes, excellent attention to detail, and a commitment to maintaining data privacy and environmental sustainability.

Brief Summary of Duties:

  • Conduct testing, diagnostics, and sorting of electronic devices, ensuring proper asset tracking for resale eligibility.
  • Accurately document conditional issues, logs, product inventory, and erasure records in EPC’s Inventory Management Software.
  • Clean and prepare IT equipment for sale or transfer, utilizing tools such as vacuums and wipes, while identifying various devices including PCs, laptops, hard drives, printers, networking equipment, and monitors.
  • Consistently meet or exceed daily production goals and quotas, with a focus on maintaining high-quality standards.
  • Handle IT equipment by packing, unpacking, wrapping, sorting, palletizing, and moving items throughout the warehouse using pallet jacks and carts
  • Includes sitting, standing, bending, twisting and the ability to lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds with or without reasonable accommodation.
  • Other duties as assigned by department


Experience and/or Education Requirements:

  • Proficient in basic computer skills with the ability to type efficiently.
  • Demonstrates strong multitasking abilities to handle various tasks simultaneously.
  • Exhibits sound decision-making skills in a dynamic work environment.
  • Capable of working independently with minimal supervision.
  • Adheres to and follows written procedures accurately.
  • IT or relevant electronic experience


Experience and/or Education Preferred:

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Demonstrates an outgoing and energetic personality with the ability to effectively prioritize workflow
  • Thrives in a collaborative team environment, sharing knowledge and supporting team success
  • Possesses strong problem-solving and critical-thinking abilities, making logical and informed decisions
  • Committed to meeting or exceeding production goals while adhering to established procedures
