James Madison University is seeking an IT Policy and Compliance Analyst to support the Third-Party Vendor Management Program and ensure compliance with IT regulations, policies, and standards. The role offers a hybrid work schedule and contributes to governance, risk management, and security awareness across university systems.

The successful candidate will analyze audits, educate partners, and maintain documentation, collaborating with IT to safeguard data and ensure regulatory compliance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology, technical writing, business administration, or related field.
• Experience with IT vendor risk assessment or vendor compliance.
• Strong security awareness and ability to interpret technical information related to IT best practices.
• Excellent writing skills to create clear requirements, specifications, and documentation.
• Effective communication of technical information to technical and non-technical audiences.
• Excellent organization, time management, and prioritization skills.
• Ability to work independently and in teams.
• Detail-oriented and accurate.

Responsibilities

• Prepare information security operations reviews for on-premises and cloud IT systems to ensure policy alignment and compliance.
• Conduct annual reviews of systems for continued information security compliance.
• Analyze SOC 2 or other audit reports assessing vendor security controls.
• Support IT's Third-Party Vendor Management Program as a member of the Technology Review Board.
• Educate partners on James Madison University's IT risk management requirements.
• Assist with security awareness and compliance training administration.
• Maintain organized information technology compliance records per regulations and standards.
• Demonstrate honesty and confidentiality in handling university and vendor data.
