Job summary

Wunderlich-Malec Engineering's IT group seeks an IT Project Manager in our Eden Prairie, MN office to plan, coordinate, and execute client-facing IT/OT infrastructure and technical services projects from initiation to completion. The role independently manages multiple projects, ensuring schedules, budgets, resources, deliverables, and client expectations are aligned.

The ideal candidate has 3–5 years of PM experience in IT infrastructure, networking, systems integration, or technical services.

Qualifications

• Requires planning, coordinating, and executing client-facing IT/OT infrastructure projects from initiation through completion.
• Experience managing multiple projects with schedules, budgets, resources, and deliverables.
• Strong written and verbal communication for status updates and stakeholder coordination.
• Ability to identify risks, manage dependencies, and escalate issues appropriately.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, Outlook, Teams).

Responsibilities

• Independently manage multiple IT/OT infrastructure projects from initiation through planning, execution, monitoring, and closure.
• Develop and manage project schedules, milestones, and documentation.
• Coordinate engineers, clients, vendors, and stakeholders to stay aligned with commitments.
• Lead meetings, set agendas, document decisions, and drive action items.
• Monitor progress against scope, schedule, and budget; develop mitigation plans.
• Maintain RAID logs, action registers, and change documentation for visibility and accountability.
• Communicate status, milestones, risks, and resource constraints to clients and leadership.
• Manage client expectations on scope, schedule, and changes; resolve conflicts.
• Coordinate resource planning and capacity with technical leads and management.
• Track labor hours, budgets, estimates, forecasts, and utilization; flag overruns.
• Support proposal development, estimates, and change orders; assess impacts.
• Coordinate procurement activities and vendor follow-up as needed.
• Identify gaps in information and drive resolution to prevent delays.
• Collaborate with technical teams to understand requirements without taking engineering ownership.
• Maintain project docs and collaboration spaces (SharePoint, Teams, OneNote).
• Provide regular management reporting on health, budget, risks, and milestones.
• Drive closeout activities and lessons learned; obtain stakeholder sign-off.
• Identify opportunities to improve project processes and reporting.
