Job summary

Guidehouse is seeking a PMO professional to provide comprehensive PMO support for technology implementation projects in the utility and energy sectors. You will help plan, track, report, and govern multiple workstreams while maintaining schedules, RAID logs, and stakeholder communications.

The role requires strong PMO discipline, excellent communication, and the ability to navigate a fast-paced client environment.

Qualifications

  • US Permanent Resident or US Citizen due to client engagement.
  • 9+ years post-graduation work experience with combinations of high school/assoc/bachelor education as specified.
  • Total experience must include 4+ years in project management, PMO, or project controls in Utilities or Energy.
  • Experience supporting technology implementation projects in regulated industries like utilities or energy.
  • Strong PMO methodologies, project governance, and lifecycle management knowledge.
  • Experience in project planning, scheduling, status reporting, risk/issue tracking, stakeholder coordination.
  • Excellent communication, facilitation, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to handle multiple priorities in a fast-paced client environment.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Teams).
  • Willingness to travel and work in Guidehouse offices or client offices as needed.

Responsibilities

  • Provide PMO support to utility and energy provider clients on technology implementation projects.
  • Support planning, tracking, reporting, and governance across multiple workstreams.
  • Assist with developing and maintaining project schedules, RAID logs, action items, status reports, and other PMO deliverables.
  • Coordinate meetings, prepare agendas, capture decisions, and follow up on action items.
  • Partner with project managers, client stakeholders, and cross-functional teams to drive execution and issue resolution.
  • Monitor project progress, identify risks and dependencies, and facilitate mitigation planning and escalation.
  • Support process improvement to strengthen PMO practices, controls, and delivery.
  • Contribute to clear and effective communication across internal teams and external client stakeholders.

What You Will Do

What You Will Need
  • Must be a US Permanent Resident or US Citizen due to nature of client engagement.
  • High school diploma AND Nine (9+) plus years of post-graduation work experience; Or Associate's degree AND Seven (7+) plus years of post-graduation work experience; Or Bachelor’s degree AND Five (5+) plus years of post-graduation work experience.
  • Total years of experience MUST include Four (4+) plus years project management, PMO, or project controls experience in the Utilities or Energy sector.
  • Experience supporting technology implementation projects, preferably in the utility, energy, or other regulated industry.
  • Strong understanding of PMO methodologies, project governance, and project lifecycle management.
  • Demonstrated experience with project planning, scheduling, status reporting, issue/risk tracking, and stakeholder coordination.
  • Excellent communication, facilitation, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and work effectively in a fast-paced client environment.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools, especially Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and Teams.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively with remote and distributed teams.
  • Ability to travel.
  • Ability to work in a Guidehouse Office or Client Office as needed.
What Would Be Nice To Have
  • Preference will be given to candidate that reside within 50 miles of a Guidehouse Office.
  • Paid professional experience with enterprise applications, such as GIS, AMI, WM, CIS, or other large-scale implementation efforts.
  • Professional certification, such as PMP, CAPM, or similar.
  • Experience with project management tools, such as Smartsheet, MS Project, Jira, or similar platforms.

The annual salary range for this position is $122,000.00-$204,000.00. Compensation decisions depend on a wide range of factors, including but not limited to skill sets, experience and training, security clearances, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs.
