Job summary

Guidehouse is seeking a senior PMO/Project Controls professional to provide comprehensive PMO support on technology implementation projects for utility and energy clients. You will help with planning, scheduling, risk tracking, governance, and stakeholder communication, collaborating with project managers and cross-functional teams.

Required is extensive PMO experience in regulated sectors, strong communication skills, and the ability to travel up to 10%.

Qualifications

  • US permanent residency or US citizenship required.
  • Minimum 9+ years post-graduation work experience with at least 4+ years in PMO, project controls or PMO in Utilities/Energy.
  • Experience supporting technology implementation projects in regulated industries.
  • Strong understanding of PMO methodologies, governance, and project lifecycle management.
  • Excellent communication, facilitation, and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

  • Provide PMO support for technology implementation projects across multiple workstreams.
  • Assist with project planning, scheduling, RAID logs, action items, and status reports.
  • Coordinate meetings, prepare agendas and materials, capture decisions, and follow up on actions.
  • Partner with project managers and stakeholders to drive execution and issue resolution.
  • Monitor progress, identify risks/dependencies, and aid risk mitigation planning.
  • Support process improvements to strengthen PMO practices and delivery consistency.
  • Ensure clear, effective communication across internal teams and client stakeholders.

What You Will Do:

Provide PMO support to utility and energy provider clients on technology implementation projects. Support project planning, tracking, reporting, and governance activities across multiple workstreams. Assist with developing and maintaining project schedules, RAID logs, action items, status reports, and other PMO deliverables. Coordinate meetings, prepare agendas and materials, capture decisions, and follow up on action items to ensure timely completion. Partner with project managers, client stakeholders, and cross‑functional teams to drive execution and issue resolution. Monitor project progress, identify risks and dependencies, and help facilitate mitigation planning and escalation, as needed. Support process improvement efforts to strengthen PMO practices, project controls, and delivery consistency. Contribute to clear and effective communication across internal teams and external client stakeholders.

What You Will Need:

Must be a US Permanent Resident or US Citizen due to nature of client engagement. High school diploma AND Nine (9+) plus years of post‑graduation work experience; Or Associate's degree AND Seven (7+) plus years of post‑graduation work experience; Or Bachelor's degree AND Five (5+) plus years of post‑graduation work experience. Total years of experience MUST include Four (4+) plus years project management, PMO, or project controls experience in the Utilities or Energy sector. Experience supporting technology implementation projects, preferably in the utility, energy, or other regulated industry. Strong understanding of PMO methodologies, project governance, and project lifecycle management. Demonstrated experience with project planning, scheduling, status reporting, issue/risk tracking, and stakeholder coordination. Excellent communication, facilitation, and organizational skills. Ability to manage multiple priorities and work effectively in a fast-paced client environment. Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills with attention to detail. Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools, especially Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and Teams. Ability to work independently and collaboratively with remote and distributed teams. Ability to travel. Ability to work in a Guidehouse Office or Client Office as needed.

What Would Be Nice To Have:

Preference will be given to candidate that reside within 50 miles of a Guidehouse Office. Paid professional experience with enterprise applications, such as GIS, AMI, WM, CIS, or other large‑scale implementation efforts. Professional certification, such as PMP, CAPM, or similar. Experience with project management tools, such as Smartsheet, MS Project, Jira, or similar platforms.

The annual salary range for this position is $122,000.00-$204,000.00.

Compensation decisions depend on a wide range of factors, including but not limited to skill sets, experience and training, security clearances, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs.
