Job Description: IT/OT Network Architect
The IT/OT Network Architect is responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining the network infrastructure that supports both Information Technology (IT) and Operational Technology (OT) environments. This role ensures seamless integration and optimal performance of network systems to meet the organization's business and operational goals.
Key Responsibilities
- Network Design and Architecture: Develop and implement comprehensive network designs that support IT and OT requirements, including LAN, WAN, and wireless networks.
- Integration: Ensure seamless integration between IT and OT networks, addressing specific needs of both environments.
- Security: Design and implement robust network security measures to protect against threats and vulnerabilities, including firewalls, VPNs, and intrusion detection systems.
- Performance Optimization: Monitor and optimize network performance, ensuring high availability and reliability.
- Compliance: Ensure network design and implementation comply with relevant industry standards and regulatory requirements.
- Vendor Management: Work with vendors and service providers to evaluate, select, and manage network-related products and services.
- Documentation: Maintain comprehensive documentation of network architecture, configurations, and processes.
- Collaboration: Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including IT, OT, cybersecurity, and operations, to understand and address network needs.
- Training and Support: Provide training and support to network administrators and other stakeholders on network-related issues and best practices.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field. Master’s degree is a plus.
- Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience in network architecture and design, with a focus on both IT and OT environments.
- Certifications: Relevant certifications such as CCNA, CCNP, CISSP, or equivalent are highly desirable.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in network design, implementation, and troubleshooting. Experience with network security technologies, protocols, and tools.
- Soft Skills: Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills. Ability to work effectively in a team and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Preferred Skills
- Experience with industrial control systems and SCADA networks.
- Knowledge of emerging technologies such as IoT and edge computing.
- Familiarity with network automation and orchestration tools.
- Understanding of cloud networking and hybrid environments.
