Job summary

SECO Energy is seeking an IT/OT Junior Administrator to manage and maintain critical IT and OT systems including ICS, SCADA, DCS, OMS, and DERMS. You will support Active Directory, backups, and disaster recovery while ensuring security and regulatory compliance.

Qualifications include a 4-year degree, 1 year AD/backup experience, and willingness to obtain Windows Server Hybrid Administrator cert within a year. Normal hours are 8–5, with on-call flexibility for emergencies.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in information systems or related field.
  • 1 year of Active Directory management experience and backup focus on Disaster Recovery.
  • Preferred: experience in electric utility.
  • Preferred: Microsoft Certified: Windows Server Hybrid Administrator Associate (required within 1 year).
  • Ability to work irregular hours and respond to emergencies on short notice.
  • Normal hours: 8:00 am–5:00 pm, Mon–Fri.
  • Pre-employment background check, physical, and drug screen.

Responsibilities

  • Administer and maintain IT/OT systems, including ICS, SCADA, DCS, OMS, and DERMS.
  • Manage rack servers, blades, and virtualization platforms for high availability.
  • Oversee and configure network components (TCP/IP, DHCP, DNS).
  • Administer Active Directory, group policies, and authentication protocols.
  • Maintain VMware vSphere environments, including vCenter, HA, and FT (7.x+).
  • Implement and manage enterprise storage (NAS, FC, iSCSI) integrated with VMware.
  • Support Microsoft Exchange, Office 365, Entra, and Azure cloud environments.
  • Develop and implement backup, replication, and clustering for Disaster Recovery.
  • Apply IT/OT cybersecurity measures to safeguard critical infrastructure.

General Purpose of Job

The IT/OT Jr. Administrator is responsible for managing and maintaining the critical IT (Informational Technology) and OT (Operational Technology) systems, ensuring reliability, security, and compliance with regulatory requirements. This role requires expertise in industrial control systems, SCADA, outage management, distributed energy resource management, and compliance with NERC CIP standards. The IT/OT Jr. Administrator will assist with the integration and operation of various IT/OT infrastructures, including network components, virtualization platforms, enterprise storage, and backup solutions.

Requirements
Education
  • Minimum: Bachelor’s degree in information systems or a related field.
  • Job-related experience may be substituted for the required education on a year-for-year basis.
Experience
  • Minimum: One (1) year of experience working with Active Directory management, and associated components, and experience with backup, with a focus on Disaster Recovery implementation.
  • Preferred: Experience within an electric utility or related industry.
Certifications
  • Preferred - Microsoft Certified: Windows Server Hybrid Administrator Associate. (Required within one-year of employment)
Other Requirements
  • Ability to work irregular hours for assignment completion and flexibility to change scheduling and report to work on short notice during emergency situations.
  • Normal work hours will be eight (8) hours Monday through Friday, between 8:00 am to 5:00 pm.
  • Successful completion of pre-employment background check, physical and drug screen.

Living Requirement - Yes - Toensure timely response to Call outs, must live within one (1) hour from the assigned reporting location. Employees who live more than one (1) hour from their assigned reporting location must relocate within 6 months of employment.

Driving Requirements - Yes - ValidFlorida Driver's License

Regulatory Compliance & Security

IT/OT Systems Administration
  • Administer and maintain Industrial Control Systems (ICS), Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA), Distributed Control Systems (DCS), Outage Management Systems (OMS), and Distributed Energy Resource Management Systems (DERMS).
  • Manage rack server hardware, blade servers, and virtualization platforms to ensure high availability and efficiency.
  • Oversee and configure network components such as TCP/IP, DHCP, and DNS.
  • Administer Active Directory (AD), including group policies, user permissions, and authentication protocols.
  • Maintain and optimize VMware vSphere environments, including vCenter, High Availability (HA), and Fault Tolerance (FT) in vSphere 7.x and above.
  • Implement and manage enterprise storage solutions (NAS, FC, iSCSI SANs) and ensure their seamless integration with VMware platforms, including proprietary SAN operating systems like NetApp.
  • Support and manage Microsoft Exchange Office 365, Entra, and Azure cloud environments.
Backup & Disaster Recovery
  • Develop and implement backup, replication, and clustering strategies, ensuring Disaster Recovery (DR) preparedness at multiple levels.
