Job summary

ZT Systems is seeking an IT Operations Technician to support a wide range of IT systems in the MFG/Corp environment. You will build and rack servers, connect them to networks, and document changes.

The role requires 2–4+ years in IT, VMware Hypervisor experience, and the ability to lift up to 60 pounds. Visa sponsorship is not provided. A high school diploma or associate degree is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist with server builds and rack/stack tasks.

• Install rails, rack servers, and manage cabling.
• Perform server burn-in tests and hardware upgrades as directed.
• Create and manage support tickets (IP/SNOW).
• Document server builds and SOPs; log changes.

The IT Operations Technician will work with our team to provide support for a wide range of IT systems and services in the MFG/Corp environment. As the IT Operations Technician, you will be responsible for building and racking servers. As an IT Operations Technician, you will work in a fast-paced environment and apply your technical knowledge to solve issues that will span multiple IT environments.

What You Will Do

• Participate in server build projects and assist with performing tasks.
• Requisition server parts and components from warehouse.
• Build/maintain physical servers.
• Ability to connect servers to the network with DAC, Fiber and Ethernet cables.
• Ability to install rails on servers and rack and stack servers.
• System component failure analysis and repair.
• Server burn‑in tests to ensure components are performing optimally and without defects.
• Upgrade hardware on servers when directed.
• Create / manage support tickets (IP/SNOW tickets).
• Create and maintain server build documentation/SOPs.
• Document all processes, system changes/fixes, and issues when performing changes.
• Hypervisor OS installation and patching.
• Issue resolution and/or escalations if required.
• Assist with any other projects/tasks as required.

What You Bring

• High School diploma or Associate degree preferred.
• 2-4+ years of related work experience in the IT field.
• CompTIA A+ or Network+ certifications are beneficial but not required.
• Configuration experience with VMware Hypervisor.
• One year PC related hardware or networking experience is beneficial but not required.
• Experience troubleshooting defective components.
• Ability to lift up to 60 pounds.
• ZT Systems will not provide visa sponsorship for this role.
