Job summary

Niron Magnetics, based in Minneapolis, is seeking a Manager, IT Operations to lead our end-user support and own day-to-day administration of core systems and networks in a fast-growing manufacturing environment.

This hands-on leadership role requires building a high-performing team, managing Microsoft 365 and Azure, SD-WAN and security policies, and coordinating with managed-service partners to ensure reliable, secure operations company-wide.

Qualifications

• 7+ years in IT operations, infrastructure, or systems administration.
• 2+ years leading or mentoring a team.
• Strong hands-on experience with Microsoft 365 and Azure administration.
• Strong networking fundamentals with firewalls, SD-WAN, and network infrastructure.
• Demonstrated experience managing managed-service providers and holding vendors accountable to service levels.
• Proven ability to lead an end-user support function and deliver excellent internal customer service.
• Working knowledge of IT service management practices, including ticketing, incident, and change management.
• Solid grasp of security fundamentals, including identity and access, endpoint protection, patching, and backup and recovery.

Responsibilities

• Lead and develop a small end-user support team, setting priorities and quality standards.
• Own the end-user support experience from onboarding to daily troubleshooting and resolution.
• Establish service levels, ticket workflows, and escalation paths for ITSM.
• Serve as a senior escalation point and stay hands-on with complex issues.
• Track support metrics and drive continuous improvement in service quality and team performance.
• Foster a customer-first culture across the organization.
