Job summary

ABB is seeking an IT Operations & Enablement Lead in Cary, NC, to own the IT Business Systems operations, governance, budgeting, and training programs. You will oversee six interconnected functions, drive data-informed decisions, and shape how users access ECC/S4HANA, Vistex, Vertex, and TMS capabilities.

The role reports to the IS Manager and demands a builder-operator mindset with significant cross-functional influence, AI platform involvement, and travel limited to under 20%.

Qualifications

• Bachelor degree in computer science engineering or related field (MBA/masters degree preferred).
• 10+ years in enterprise business systems with SAP ECC and/or S/4HANA exposure, with Vistex/Vertex/SAP TMS or similar.
• 5+ years running operational governance in a matrixed environment across multiple business areas.
• Experience managing or co-managing a team or project budget, forecasting, and financial narration to leadership.
• Proven track record designing and delivering training programs in a business systems context.
• Experience delivering AI-powered platform solutions using RAG or knowledge graphs.
• Travel up to 20% or less.
• Candidates must have US work authorization for ABB.

Responsibilities

• Own monthly business reviews for five business areas across two user groups.
• Own the IT Business Systems team budget monthly including contractor forecasting.
• Run intake governance (APT process) and maintain key relationships.
• Lead end-user training and determine when training is or isn’t the right solution.
• Develop internal capabilities across ECC, S/4HANA, Vistex, Vertex and TMS.
• Provide operational support to the team leader and run the AI knowledge platform.
