Blue Mantis is hiring an IT Operations Engineer to support multiple customers with on-site work in the Los Angeles area. The role focuses on Windows/Linux/Unix server administration, cloud operations (AWS/Azure/O365), and VMware virtualization to ensure high availability and performance in large enterprise environments.

You will monitor systems with SolarWinds and DataDog, manage incidents within SLAs, and implement security best practices across on-prem and cloud environments.

Formación

• Bachelor's degree in CS or IT or equivalent hands-on experience.
• Certifications CCNA/CCNP/ITIL are preferred.
• Experience in complex multisite environments with enterprise networks.

Blue Mantis is looking to hire an IT Operations Engineer to support multiple customers based in the Los Angeles California area. The ideal candidate will be proficient in supporting various systems and applications, including server and cloud environments, and should also have experience with networking. This team supports a wide array of technologies to meet the needs of our customers' large enterprise network environments.

Key Responsibilities

• Server Administration: Manage and maintain Windows, Linux, and Unix environments to ensure optimal performance.
• Cloud Operations: Administer cloud platforms including AWS, Azure, and O365 for enterprise workloads and containerization.
• Virtualization: Manage, configure, and troubleshoot VMware-based environments to ensure optimal performance, scalability, and availability of virtualized infrastructure.
• System Monitoring: Leverage platforms such as SolarWinds and DataDog to ensure network reliability and performance.
• Incident Management: Lead network-related incident resolution, ensuring SLAs are met and escalating issues when necessary.
• Security Best Practices: Implement and support secure networking solutions, ensuring robust protection in on-premise and cloud environments.
• Documentation: Create and maintain detailed network documentation, including topology maps and procedures for troubleshooting.

Skills, Knowledge and Expertise

Required Skills

• Strong experience Cisco Nexus/Arista/Meraki Switches, Cisco Wireless Controllers, Windows, Linux, and Unix environments using the ServiceNOW ticketing system.
• Hands-on experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, O365, VMware) and virtualization/containerization technologies, Infoblox, DNS, and remediation of vulnerabilities.
• Backup and DR Support: Experience supporting and troubleshooting backup and disaster recovery solutions such as Rubrik and Zerto, ensuring data protection and system resilience.
• Hands-on experience with firewalls, routing protocols, and network monitoring tools like SolarWinds.
• Familiarity with automation tools and scripting
• Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to adapt to dynamic priorities.

Preferred Skills

• Network troubleshooting in data center environments. (Cisco, Palo Alto, Meraki, Arista)
• Proficiency in scripting languages (Python, PowerShell, Bash) for automating server and cloud operations.
• Familiarity with cloud-based networking solutions in AWS, Azure, or O365 environments.
• Knowledge of infrastructure capacity planning and performance tuning.
• Knowledge of Kubernetes, Docker, and container orchestration for managing distributed applications.
• Familiarity with security best practices, SIEM platforms, and endpoint protection.
• Experience with advanced video streaming technologies and CDNs.
• Familiarity with infrastructure performance tuning and capacity planning.

Qualifications

• Provide game day support on major holidays when games are played.
• Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or equivalent hands-on experience.
• Certifications: CCNA, CCNP (or equivalent) ITIL and technical certifications in, servers and/ or cloud (preferred).
• Experience: Demonstrated expertise in a complex, multisite environment.

Base Salary Range: $120,000 to $165,000

However, individual salaries are determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to: business considerations, local market conditions, and internal equity, as well as candidate qualifications, such as skills, education, and experience.
