Job summary

Edison Scientific is hiring its first IT Operations Engineer to design and scale a modern workplace technology function from the ground up. This on-site role in San Francisco’s Dogpatch will own Mac fleet management, IAM, and collaboration platforms while driving automation and secure access practices.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of IT systems administration or workplace technology experience.
• Mac-first fleet management via MDM (Hexnode, Jamf, Kandji).
• Experience administering Google Workspace or a comparable cloud productivity and email suite.
• Strong identity and access management experience, including identity providers, SSO, SAML/OIDC, MFA.
• Working knowledge of endpoint protection/EDR, DLP, VPN, and device compliance controls.
• Comfortable supporting conference room AV, video conferencing systems, and hands-on office technology needs.
• Track record of operating in ambiguous, fast-moving environments with clear priorities.
• Strong customer-service mindset and cross-functional collaboration skills.
• Willingness to work onsite in San Francisco.

Responsibilities

• Own and continuously improve workplace technology environment, including Mac fleet management, MDM, hardware lifecycle, endpoint compliance, and collaboration platforms like Google Workspace, Slack, Notion, and Zoom Rooms.
• Automate and optimize employee onboarding and offboarding to deliver secure, efficient, scalable access management.
• Manage identity and access across business systems, including Okta, SSO, MFA, lifecycle automation, and privileged access workflows.
• Support and improve office networking, internet connectivity, and core office infrastructure.
• Support secure administration of cloud platforms, SaaS applications, and business-critical systems with governance and audit controls.
• Deliver an exceptional employee technology experience through responsive support and self-service capabilities.
• Build and optimize IT operations, including ticketing workflows, SLAs, knowledge management, documentation, and SOPs.
• Identify opportunities to automate repetitive IT workflows using AI, scripting, APIs, and modern workplace tech.
• Automate and streamline onboarding/offboarding for seamless access administration.
