Job summary

INIT Innovations in Transportation, Inc. is seeking an IT Operations Engineer to own and operate complex infrastructure supporting transit technology deployments.

You will manage Azure, Windows Server, VMware, and application delivery components, while mentoring junior staff and coordinating with vendor partners. This role emphasizes proactive problem solving, automation with PowerShell, security governance, and strong collaboration with the IT Systems Engineering team to keep customer

Qualifications

• 5+ years of IT operations, systems administration, or infrastructure engineering.
• CompTIA Security+ certification required; AZ-104 expected.
• Experience with Windows Server, Active Directory, Entra ID, and hybrid identity.
• Experience with VMware vSphere, performance tuning, and storage management.
• Experience administering Azure services (App Services, Gateway, NSGs, Key Vault).
• Advanced PowerShell scripting for automation and operational workflows.

Responsibilities

• Own customer environments as the primary technical contact and drive upgrades.
• Coordinate with vendors and document status for customers.
• Develop KPIs and dashboards for availability and performance.
• Maintain monitoring via SolarWinds and PagerDuty.
• Support Zero Trust and identity security controls across environments.
• Travel to customer sites as needed.
