The IT Network Technician will assist with maintaining and enhancing the ongoing performance, reliability, and support of the campus-wide network infrastructure for Augusta National Golf Club, the Masters Tournament, and the Masters Tournament Foundation while maintaining the highest level of confidentiality for the Club. The IT Network Technician is part of the IT infrastructure team supporting secure and highly available networks, computing platforms, and virtual server frameworks.
This position is a full-time, on-site role in Augusta, GA.
Job Responsibilities
- Reporting to the Senior Manager, IT Operations, acts as a technical specialist to implement, monitor and maintain corporate Wide Area Network/Local Area Network (WAN/LAN) and wireless Local Area Network (WLAN) systems
- Supports the administration and maintenance of core networking components, and campus-wide access switches
- Assists in intrusion detection and vulnerability analysis and maintains compliance with best practices for secure networks
- Supports the backup, recovery, and efficiency of network infrastructure and related enterprise frameworks
- Diagnoses and resolves network hardware and connectivity problems
- Supports network systems and applications of low to medium complexity
- Assist in the creation and monitoring of metrics for infrastructure systems
- Issues, documents, and maintains public and private IP addresses, host names, routing tables, related switch configurations per documented standards and requirements
- Assists in the planning, designing, and execution of testing efforts
- Supports integration solutions with other applications and platforms based on business and technical requirements
- Documents, monitors, reports, and assists with managing the resolution of systemic issues
- Assist with the creation and maintenance of a catalog infrastructure system supporting daily and tournament operations
- Assist with researching technologies and preparing proposals for improvement projects
- Provide support to the Senior Infrastructure Engineer on technical issues
- Provide remote and after-hours diagnostic help when required to support operations
- Performs other duties which are deemed by management to be an important part of the job

- Occasionally required to walk and work with hands and arms, lift up to 25 pounds and/or drive a golf cart
- Required to sit, sometimes for several hours at a time, and use their hands and fingers to operate a computer

Qualifications
Skills/Knowledge/Attributes
- Working knowledge of LAN/WAN/WLAN networking concepts including architecture protocols, TCP/IP, Ethernet, VLANs, subnetting, routing, switching, wireless networking, and network operating systems
- Programming, scripting skills to streamline network administration tasks
- Internet and network security, firewalls, proxy servers, digital rights, and virtual private network (VPN)
- Project management concept and methodology
- Internet application services, such as web servers and directory services
- Business productivity software such as Microsoft Office tools and databases
- Network services management tools
- Knowledge of servers and workstations operating systems concepts and administration.
- Excellent communication; written, verbal, and presentation skills
Relative Experience/Education
- Bachelor’s degree in information technology, computer science, or related field required
- 0 - 2 years of experience in infrastructure, networking, firewall technology related roles, preferably within retail, hospitality, or related industries
- Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) preferred
- Knowledge of and/or training in ITIL, Lean Six Sigma or related IT service management frameworks
- Familiarity of standards DSS PCI 3.0 / EMV, ISO 27000 series, and PII preferred
- Virtual server farm support in the areas of networking, storage, and high availability preferred
Required License(s)
- Possess a valid driver’s license and/or successfully completes the Club’s internal motor vehicle training program
Projected Work Schedule
- Normal work hours are 8:30 am to 5:00 pm, Monday through Friday. Must be available to work nights, weekends, and holidays.
