Job summary

Centra Wellness Network is seeking an IT Network Specialist to maintain the Windows Server environment, manage AD/Azure Entra ID, and support cloud WiFi and VM infrastructure across Benzie/Manistee counties. This role emphasizes security, backups, and application updates to ensure reliable IT services for staff.

You will collaborate with the IT team on upgrades, deployments, and project work while delivering strong customer service and effective problem resolution for end-users across multiple

Qualifications

• Post high school degree or certificate in computer science or related field preferred.
• Minimum two years’ experience in LAN/WAN management and administration; four years can be substituted for a Microsoft certification.
• Knowledge of LAN/WAN, hardware, Internet/intranet, email systems, operating systems, software utilities, and data communications.

Responsibilities

• Maintain Microsoft Windows Server environment and other Microsoft products.
• Manage and support Microsoft Active Directory/Azure Entra ID for user accounts and groups.
• Maintain and troubleshoot Managed Cloud WIFI.
• Maintain and troubleshoot VMware vSphere virtualization.
• Manage data backups and restore processing using VEEAM with regular recovery testing.
• Utilize server and desktop management software for updating Windows and other software.
• Manage enterprise virus, spyware, and web content filter.
• Support VPN connectivity and remote terminal services.
• Collaborate in the management and maintenance of Microsoft/Office 365 including updates, configuration, and monitoring.
• Focus on security within Office 365 for identity management, endpoint protection, and Intune/Endpoint management.
• Develop OS cloud-based deployment technologies with EndPoint Management and AutoPilot.
• Investigate, recommend, and develop Azure solutions for device management.
• Troubleshoot and resolve computer operating, software/hardware, and database problems; provide technical support.
• Perform and maintain system, security and application backups; document and analyze effectiveness to mitigate risk.
• Participate in evaluation and testing of system upgrades and rollout of new applications and updates.
• Perform minor system maintenance on files and monitor system disk space.
• Provide training and technical assistance to staff and contractors.

As a member of the Information Technology team, the Network Specialist is responsible for maintaining the integrity of all computer workstations and providing technical support to the Agency’s employees. Responsible for establishing a formal presence and provides assistance with hardware and software problems to all users throughout the Agency sites. Additional responsibilities include participation in all technology upgrades and network configuration changes. Staff must possess a strong working knowledge of Agency’s operating and network systems. Staff must possess computer, typing, grammar, punctuation, proofreading, transcription, phone proficiencies and excellent communication and customer relations skills to effectively interact with staff, customers, business partners and community stakeholders. Additionally, the employee must exercise independent decision-making and work effectively in a team-based environment. The employee will complete other tasks as needed in various programs as assigned by supervisor. Your office will be surrounded by nature, just miles from beaches, hiking trail. Benzonia is just a short drive to Frankfort, Traverse City, Cadillac and Ludington, and Manistee, charming towns outfitted with shopping and unique restaurants and breweries.

About the Role

• Maintain Microsoft Windows Server environment and other Microsoft products.

• Maintain and troubleshoot virtualized servers, currently using VMware vSphere Virtual Machines.
• Manage data backups and restore processing utilizing VEEAM, including regular recovery testing.
• Utilize server and desktop management software for updating Windows and other software.
• Manage enterprise virus, spyware, and web content filter.
• Support VPN connectivity and remote terminal services.
• Collaborate in the management and maintenance of the Microsoft/Office 365 environment, including implementation of services and updates, ongoing maintenance, configuration, further development, and monitoring.
• Focus on security within the Office365 environment for identity management, endpoint protection, and Intune/Endpoint management.
• Develop and implement OS cloud-based deployment technologies with EndPoint Management and AutoPilot.
• Investigate, recommend, and develop Azure solutions for device management.
• Troubleshoots and resolves computer operating, software/hardware, database problems, cell phone problems and provides technical support as requested.
• Performs and maintains system, security and application backups. Provides documentation and analysis for effectiveness to identify and mitigate risk.
• Participates in the evaluation and testing of system upgrades.
• Support the roll-out of new application and updates.
• Performs minor system maintenance activities on various files and monitors system disk for space.
• Provides technical support for agency computers. This includes imaging virus protection and management of all work stations.
• Responsible for scheduling and facilitating software updates agency wide.
• Install and test necessary software and hardware.
• Assist the Network Administrator and IT System Specialist in implementing projects identified in the IT Strategic Plan.
• Provides training and technical assistance to staff and contractors

Requirements

Qualifications

• Post High School degree or certificate in computer science, information management systems, or business with an information system curriculum is preferred or extended years of service in related area.
• At least two (2) years’ experience in all areas of local area and wide area network management and administration, including system configuration, setup, troubleshooting, planning, designing, implementation, and user support. Four (4) years of experience can be used in lieu of having a Microsoft certification.
• Knowledge of local area and wide area networks (LAN/WAN), hardware configuration, Internet/intranet, email systems, telecommunications and data communications, computer operating systems, software packages, software utilities, proper records management.

CWN prioritizes work and life balance. Your supervisor will work with you to utilize flex time and paid time off. You will primarily work in the office with the following schedule:

• Monday through Friday
• Between 8:00am and 5:00pm

You may be required to work hours outside of the regular schedule if assigned by your supervisor to meet clients’ needs. Light travel (<5% of time) may be required for job-related assignments, training or presentations.
