Job summary
The Harris County Tax Assessor-Collector’s Office seeks a Director of Information Technology to lead modernization and translate business needs into actionable strategies. You will define technology priorities, roadmaps, and oversee modernization initiatives to improve customer and employee experience.

Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or higher in IT or related field.
- 10+ years of progressive IT experience including applications development and systems management.
- 5+ years in leading technology teams and modernization initiatives.
- Experience modernizing legacy applications and integrating disparate systems.
- Experience leading enterprise software engineering teams.
- Experience managing hardware/software integration projects.
- Experience with enterprise architecture and cloud platforms.
- Experience managing technology vendors, projects, and roadmaps.
- Experience implementing Agile development methodologies.
Responsibilities
- Lead technology modernization strategy and create actionable initiatives.
- Develop and maintain a technology roadmap prioritizing modernization, integration, automation, and emerging tech.
- Oversee SDLC, architecture, coding standards, testing, deployment, and maintenance.
- Lead Agile/Scrum teams and coordinate cloud-native and on-premise development.
- Manage Hardware & Desktop Technical support and align with Universal Services.
- Establish DevOps/CI-CD practices and ensure cybersecurity compliance.
- Communicate status to executive leadership and stakeholders.
- Plan and manage project portfolios, risks, and KPIs.
