This full-time remote position requires regular travel—approximately 20% to 30%—to support a fleet of power plants located in California, Virginia, West Virginia, Pennsylvania, and New Jersey. Preference is given to candidates based in the Southwestern United States. The primary focus of the role is to ensure the reliable and efficient operation of the networking infrastructure connecting these sites.
Opportunity Summary
The IT Manager is responsible for overseeing the management, support, and maintenance of the IT and OT infrastructure for Middle River Power, a client of NAES. This individual possesses a comprehensive understanding of the network environment, including its diverse systems, software, and hardware components. The IT Manager strategically plans and supports major network upgrades and changes, ensuring seamless integration and reliable performance. Additionally, they provide 24/7 support, monitor network performance using tools such as FortiGate and Azure solutions, and lead compliance efforts to maintain adherence to industry standards and regulatory requirements.
Your scope of responsibility as IT Manager includes the following primary functions:

Working Relationships
The IT Manager reports to the Client Service Manager for MRP and works closely with both corporate and plant personnel, as well as management, to support and optimize the infrastructure and related systems used by Middle River Power. This role collaborates with the compliance department to ensure NERC CIP compliance and to provide the necessary documentation of adherence. The IT Manager also oversees members of the infrastructure team, managing both system and network operations.
Physical Requirements and Working Conditions
Work is primarily performed in a home office environment, involving extensive computer use, sitting for prolonged periods, and frequent virtual communication with internal teams and external stakeholders. A reliable internet connection and a quiet, dedicated workspace are essential for effective performance.
Travel to power generation facilities will be required. During these site visits, tasks could involve standing for extended periods, climbing stairs and ladders, and wearing personal protective equipment such as hard hats, safety glasses, and hearing protection. Work may also take place outdoors in varying weather conditions, including extreme heat or cold. Smoking restrictions apply in and around all facilities.
Fitness for Duty
All personnel will participate in the Fitness for Duty Program, which includes a post-offer physical examination, drug screening, and post-employment random drug screening.
Work Schedule
Regular workdays are Monday through Friday during standard day shift hours. Given the remote support nature of this role, some flexibility in schedule may be required, including extended hours, varied shifts, or weekend and holiday work, to respond to operational needs or emergencies at power plant facilities.
Up to 20% to 30% regular travel will be required to support power plant assets and to participate in Manager, Owner, User Group, or other offsite meetings.
Compensation
This position offers an annual base salary ranging from $143,000 to $180,000 and includes eligibility for an annual performance bonus.
