Job description

Our client is looking for an experienced and proactive IT Manager to lead their hardware and network infrastructure operations. This role ensures the seamless functioning of all IT systems and assets, with a strong focus on system reliability, network efficiency, and disaster recovery. The ideal candidate will have a solid background in IT infrastructure management, hands-on technical expertise, and experience leading a small technical team.

Key Responsibilities:

Infrastructure & Network Management (50%):
  • Maintain and monitor all IT infrastructure, including servers, workstations, printers, copiers, and network equipment.
  • Oversee LAN, bandwidth usage, internet connectivity, and telephony/SMS platforms.
  • Ensure optimal server and web performance, including management of security certificates.
  • Proactively monitor system logs and alerts, ensuring swift issue resolution.
  • Lead and support the internal IT support team, providing mentorship and performance oversight.
  • Ensure regular system maintenance, patch updates, and efficient hardware lifecycle management.
  • Administer user access, permissions, and security rights.
  • Oversee data backup processes and ensure generator, UPS, and other critical systems are fully operational.
  • Manage and maintain secure and effective connectivity across locations and remote users.
  • Safeguard infrastructure using firewalls, antivirus, and intrusion detection systems.
Vendor & Licensing Management (15%):
  • Manage vendor relationships and ensure compliance with service level agreements (SLAs).
  • Oversee the procurement cycle from quotation to purchase.
  • Ensure all software and hardware licenses and warranties are current and documented.

Disaster Recovery & Business Continuity (5%):

  • Implement and maintain a robust disaster recovery strategy.
  • Conduct regular testing of the disaster recovery site and systems to ensure readiness.
  • Supervise backup operations and ensure effective DR replication.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Relevant diploma or degree in Information Technology.
  • 3–4 years in IT support and network administration.
  • Minimum 2 years managing a small IT infrastructure team.
Strong working knowledge of:
  • Active Directory & Microsoft 365.
  • Core switching, routing, and VMware environments.
  • Business continuity planning and disaster recovery.

Experience with:

  • Server, switch, and router troubleshooting.
  • Telephony and cabling infrastructure maintenance.
