Job summary

XPENG is seeking an IT Director or senior IT leader to oversee vendor management, end-user support, and IT operations across the Santa Clara area. The role requires strong project management, cross-functional collaboration, and experience with mixed MacOS/Windows environments and modern IT tooling.

You will drive onboarding alignment with HR, manage networks, security, and cloud services, and mentor IT staff.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in computer science with at least 5 years related experience.
• Experience supporting mixed MacOS, Ubuntu and Windows environments (3+ years).
• Experience with MDM, configuration management, and scripting languages.
• Experience with monitoring dashboards (Grafana/Influx/Prometheus).

Responsibilities

• Negotiate and manage IT vendor contracts and service agreements.
• Oversee end-user IT services including help desk and support.
• Lead IT onboarding aligned with HR processes.
• Provide day-to-day IT support for office and remote users.
• Setup and manage networks, devices, and software, including VPN and LDAP.
• Maintain licenses and inventory; manage Confluence and Jira accounts.

Job Responsibilities

• Acquisition & Deployment
  • Negotiate and administer vendor, outsource, and consultant contracts and service agreements.
  • Develop business case justifications and cost/benefit analyses for IT spending and initiatives.
• Operational Management
  • Oversee provision of end‑user services, including help desk and technical support services.
  • Delivery may be through internal providers and external providers, or may be provided directly by the IT Director.
  • Ensure the process of IT onboarding is closely aligned with HR onboarding processes.
  • Provide day‑to‑day support for the local office and remote users.
  • Support includes LAN support, break/fix, software/hardware upgrades, patch management.
  • Anti‑Virus management, image management, application installs, user support and training.
  • Setup, deployment and manage, and troubleshoot Windows and Mac computers and software, printers and devices, including Android / iPhone/ wireless devices deployment and support.
  • Support Office 365, Gsuite, Zoom Environment.
  • Troubleshoot wired and wireless network issues.
  • Deploy and manage LDAP users and groups.
  • Support wired and wireless networks.
  • Maintain detailed and up‑to‑date licenses and hardware/software inventory.
  • Set up and support VPN, Confluence, Jira, Gitlab Accounts.
  • Assist with the deployment, monitoring, maintenance, development, upgrade, and support of all IT infrastructure, including phone systems, servers, SAN/NAS storage, switches, VPN, firewall, PCs, operating systems, hardware, software and peripherals managed by IT.
  • Keep current with the latest technologies.
  • Manage IT staffing, including recruitment, supervision, scheduling, development, evaluation, and disciplinary actions.
  • Create end‑user documentation for IT Self Service.
  • Manage Confluence content.

Job Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in the field of computer science and at least 5 years related work experience.
• Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
• 3+ years of working experience in supporting mixed fleets of MacOS, Ubuntu and Windows laptop, desktop environments.
• Experience with MDM software, SimpleMDM, fleetsmith, Intune or similar.
• Experience with configuration management software, Munki, Ansible, Puppet or similar.
• Experience with monitoring and dashboards software such as Grafana, Influx, Prometheus.
• Experience with Ubuntu Desktop/Server, Windows Server, VMware ESXi, KVM, Docker container technology.
• L2/L3 networking experience with mainstream network equipment brands such as H3C, Cisco, Aruba, Sonicwall.
• Familiar with bash, PowerShell, Python scripting skills.
• Strong understanding of project management principles.
• Familiar with LDAP, Active Directory, DNS and DHCP.

The base salary range for this full‑time position is$118,125 - $173,000, in addition to bonus, equity and benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries for the position across all US locations. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job‑related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
