Responsibilities

• Oversee maintenance, backup and security of IT infrastructure (servers, networks, PCs).
• Program, manage and maintain the ticketing system and monitoring systems.
• Coordinate with IT Director and clients to understand requirements and change requests.
• Manage IT helpdesk staff and assist with staff training.
• Perform data backups and restores.
• Research hardware and software purchases in coordination with IT Director.
• Coordinate disaster recovery planning and testing with the team.
• Schedule and perform server/PC upgrades and maintenance.
• Ensure systems operate reliably and report new tech to IT Director.

Job description

APS IT Systems Manager, is responsible for overseeing the maintenance, backup and security of company technical infrastructure, computer systems and manage the helpdesk team.

Essential Functions:

• Technical infrastructure (servers, network equipment and PCs) setup, maintenance, upgrade, and backup.
• Program, manage and maintain the ticketing system and infrastructure monitoring systems.
• Work with team members to integrate tools with other IT systems and attending meetings with the clients and IT Director to understand requirements and change requests.
• Basic management of the IT helpdesk and its staff.
• Perform data backups and restores.
• Research appropriate hardware and software for purchase through the IT Director.
• Implement and manage security and integrity procedures in coordination with the IT security team.
• Manage secure network access for remote users as established by the IT security team.
• Coordinate with the IT Director constructing and implementing plans to ensure the company’s network continues to operate smoothly in the event of a problem.
• Participate in disaster recovery testing along with the IT infrastructure team and draft documentation.
• Schedule the upgrade and maintenance of servers and PCs.
• Test and modify systems to ensure that they operate reliably.
• Keep up to date with new technology and report this information to the IT Director each quarter.
• Train new IT staff.

Education:

• Associates degree in Computer Science or equivalent training.

Experience:

• Minimum 3 years’ experience in server management, deployment and backup.
• Previous experience in customer service.

• Change Management and ITIL principals’ knowledge.

• Advanced telephone phone system knowledge.
