Socket.dev in Georgia is seeking an experienced IT Manager to oversee the planning, implementation, and maintenance of plant IT systems, including servers, networks, storage, and manufacturing applications.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field.
• Minimum 5 years of IT management experience (plant supporting experience preferred).
• Proven experience in network, server, cybersecurity, and system administration.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement strategic plans for Plant IT infrastructure and systems.
• Establish IT infrastructure standards, policies and operational procedures.
• Manage network, server, endpoint, and other IT infrastructure environments.
• Ensure the availability, reliability, and performance of IT infrastructure.
• Oversee infrastructure monitoring, maintenance, upgrades, and lifecycle management.
• Support the integration and operation of Plant IT and OT environments.
• Manage IT vendors, licensing, maintenance agreements, and service performance.
• Lead Plant IT Infrastructure projects, including upgrades, migrations, and new technology implementations.
• Maintain IT security, backup, and business continuity practices.
• Monitor IT systems and proactively improve reliability and operational efficiency.
• Supervise and support IT infrastructure staff to ensure effective day-to-day operations.
• Work closely with Plant departments and management to identify IT needs and drive improvements

Job description

Purpose:

This role oversees the planning, implementation, and maintenance of IT systems and infrastructure used in the GA Plant, including servers, networks, storage, and specialized manufacturing applications.

Key Responsibilities include the following(other duties may be assigned as needed):

• Develop and implement strategic plans for Plant IT infrastructure and systems
• Establish IT infrastructure standards, policies and operational procedures
• Manage network, server, endpoint, and other IT infrastructure environments
• Ensure the availability, reliability, and performance of IT infrastructure

Qualifications:

Education and Experience:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field
• Minimum 5 years of experience in IT management (Plant supporting experience preferred)
• Proven experience in network, server, cybersecurity, and system administration
• Strong knowledge of IT infrastructure technologies, including Windows Server, Linux, firewalls, switches, and wireless networks
• Experience with infrastructure monitoring, backup, disaster recovery, and system availability
• Strong troubleshooting, problem-solving, and communication skills
• Proficiency in IT project management and infrastructure planning
• Strong leadership and team management

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

• Server and system administration: Windows Server, Linux, Active Directory, DNS, and DHCP
• Network infrastructure: Cisco switches, firewalls, wireless, VLANs, and TCP/IP
• Endpoint management, software deployment, and patch management.
• IT security, backup, disaster recovery, and business continuity
• Infrastructure monitoring, troubleshooting, and performance management.
• IT infrastructure lifecycle and asset management.
• Vendor, licensing, and technical service management.

Legal Requirements:

• Must be at least 18 years of age due to federal labor law requirements.
• Must be legally authorized to work in the United States.

Supervisory Responsibility: The GA IT Manager will provide da-to-day leadership, coordinate activities, and manage employee performance for the GA IT Team.

Working Conditions:

• Constant office setting with rare exposure to hazards.
• Constant use of computer and office equipment.

Physical Requirements:

• Constant sitting and occasional walking
• Rare lifting, carrying. Or pushing/pulling up to 10lbs.
• Constant keyboarding

Remote Work: This position is not eligible for hybrid or remote work.
