Job summary

The County of Monterey Information Technology Department (ITD) seeks an Information Technology Manager to lead the Systems and Operations Team, directing on‑premise and cloud infrastructure, data centers, and collaboration tools for county services.

The successful candidate will provide day‑to‑day leadership, set priorities, supervise staff, manage budgets, and guide projects from planning to completion, with expertise in Azure, AWS, IAM, security, and DevOps.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a related field; six years of IT leadership or supervisory experience preferred.
• Experience managing complex IT environments, budgets, and vendor relationships.
• Knowledge of cloud infrastructure (Azure, AWS) and cybersecurity fundamentals.

Responsibilities

• Lead the Systems and Operations Team; oversee on‑premise and cloud infrastructure, data centers, and collaboration solutions.
• Set priorities, manage staff and resources, and ensure reliable delivery of technology services to County departments.
• Coordinate budgets, contracts, and vendor engagements; drive projects from planning to implementation.
