Job summary

County of Monterey Information Technology Department is seeking a Radio Communications Engineer to join the ITD Radio Communications team. The role focuses on designing, implementing and supporting complex analog and P25 LMR systems for public safety across the County, with exposure to LTE integration and cloud-based infrastructure.

You will collaborate with vendors, contractors and cross-functional teams, document configurations, and help ensure reliable statewide communications.

Qualifications

• Experience designing and supporting analog and P25 LMR public safety radios.
• Familiarity with LTE integration and modern telecom infrastructure.
• Ability to collaborate with vendors, contractors and cross-functional teams.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, maintain and support microwave and radio systems.
• Analyze radio frequencies, propagation, and system performance.
• Coordinate with vendors and internal teams and document configurations.
