Job summary

County of Monterey Information Technology Department seeks an Information Technology Manager to lead the Systems and Operations Team, overseeing on‑premise and cloud servers, data center operations, and collaboration solutions.

You will set priorities, manage staff, and ensure reliable technology services for County departments, with focus on Azure, AWS, IAM, cybersecurity, and DevOps practices.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in one of the specified fields.
• Six years of professional IT experience with supervisory responsibilities.
• Experience in budgeting and vendor management.
• Knowledge of IaaS, SaaS, and data center operations.

Responsibilities

• Act as primary liaison with departments to identify needs, scope projects, and implement technology solutions.
• Prepare and present reports, proposals, and recommendations.
• Supervise staff, provide training, and evaluate performance.
• Develop and manage IT budgets for assigned units.
• Coordinate resources and projects to ensure high-quality service delivery.
• Oversee contracts, vendors, and procurement processes.
