Job summary

The Hawaii Department of Personnel Services seeks an IT professional to plan, supervise, and coordinate a large county information technology program. You will manage Infrastructure/Help Desk staff, ensure security, oversee connectivity, and lead LAN/WAN projects.

The role requires a bachelor’s degree plus four years of related IT experience, including at least one year at a fully competent level. Strong leadership, analytical, and reporting skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Combination of education and experience substantially equivalent to graduation from an accredited college or university with a bachelor’s degree and four (4) years of related IT experience.
• At least one (1) year of experience at a fully competent level comparable to the Information Technology Analyst III level class.
• Knowledge of administration, supervision, organization, and management; information systems, analysis, design, and development.
• Ability to gather, analyze, and evaluate facts, plan workflows, and prepare reports and procedures.

Responsibilities

• Plans, supervises and coordinates an extensive IT program and daily administration of Infrastructure/Help Desk teams.
• Oversees infrastructure security, communications and internet connectivity; addresses LAN/WAN challenges.
• Leads projects on new infrastructure initiatives and coordinates with vendors and department officials.
