Job description

The IT Manager oversees IT service delivery, ensuring effective systems, support processes, and resource utilization. This role manages the IT budget, vendors, contracts, and projects while establishing and enforcing policies, procedures, and security standards. The IT Manager also leads IT staff, including hiring, performance management, scheduling, and discipline, to support efficient and secure operations.

The essential functions listed below are those that represent the majority of the time spent working in this class. Management may assign additional functions related to the type of work of the class as necessary.

• Oversee and ensure effective IT service delivery by monitoring systems, supporting daily operations, and maintaining reliable support processes.
• Manage IT budgets, vendors, contracts, and projects to ensure efficient and cost-effective use of resources.
• Develop, implement, and enforce IT policies, procedures, and security standards to protect organizational systems and data.
• Establish and align IT strategy and priorities with overall organizational goals and objectives.
• Supervise IT staff, including hiring, performance evaluations, scheduling, and disciplinary actions, to maintain a productive team.
• Serve as the primary escalation point for complex or high-risk technical issues, ensuring timely resolution.
• Communicate effectively with leadership and cross-functional departments to support organizational initiatives and technology needs.
• Performs related work as assigned.

MINIMUM EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

• Requires an Associate’s degree, vocational technical degree or specialized training that is equivalent to satisfactory completion of two years of college education.
• Over four years and up to and including eight years of related experience.

SPECIAL CERTIFICATIONS AND LICENSES:

• CompTIA A+ is required.
• Must possess and maintain a valid state driver’s license with an acceptable driving history.
