Job summary

LP Building Solutions is seeking a Summer IT Infrastructure Intern to support monitoring, troubleshooting, and cloud automation while based in Nashville, TN. The role is a paid, full-time internship from May 2027 to August 2027, with hybrid work between the home and Nashville office.

You will assist in configuring network gear, server builds, patching, and user management, while gaining hands-on experience with enterprise-grade infrastructure tools and technologies.

Qualifications

• Enrolled in a Bachelor’s degree program (CS preferred) with an expected Aug 2027 or later graduation.
• Maintain GPA 3.0 or higher.
• Familiarity with networking basics, Windows/Linux systems, and cloud platforms.

Responsibilities

• Assist day-to-day IT infrastructure operations including monitoring systems and troubleshooting.
• Support network, server builds, patching, and user account management.
• Contribute to cloud provisioning, cost optimization, and automation scripts.
• Document processes and contribute to knowledge base articles.
• Collaborate with team members and learn IT infrastructure best practices.
• Engage with leaders to understand strategic technology initiatives.

Job Purpose

This position will support our IT Infrastructure team as a Summer Intern from May 2027 – August 2027 and will be based in Nashville, TN. This is a paid, full-time internship.

In This Position You Will Have The Opportunity To

• Assist with day-to-day infrastructure operations, including monitoring systems, troubleshooting issues, and supporting network and cloud environments.
• Participate in specific projects such as:
• Network: Configuring switches, routers, and firewalls; assisting with network performance monitoring.
• Systems Administration: Supporting server builds, patching, and user account management.
• Cloud: Working on cloud resource provisioning, cost optimization, and automation scripts.
• Document processes and contribute to knowledge base articles.
• Collaborate with team members and learn best practices in IT infrastructure management.
• Engage with leaders across the company to understand strategic technology initiatives.
• Gain hands-on experience with enterprise-level infrastructure tools and technologies.
• Develop troubleshooting and problem-solving skills in real-world IT environments.
• Understand the fundamentals of network, systems, and cloud administration within a corporate setting

What do I need to be successful?

• Technical Skills (preferred):
• Basic knowledge of networking concepts (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP).
• Familiarity with Windows/Linux operating systems.
• Exposure to cloud platforms (Azure, or AWS).
• Understanding of virtualization and containerization (VMware).

Education

• Currently enrolled in a Bachelor’s degree program, preferably in Computer Science
• Must have an expected graduation date of August 2027 or later
• Maintain a GPA of 3.0 or higher

Work Environment

• This position will work at home and in our Nashville office on a hybrid schedule.
